Let It Snow, Let It Snow

Ah, from the coast inland, we are getting hammered with a major winter storm. I measured 9 to 12 inches of snow in my front yard, and it is snowing again. It looks magical--all white and beautiful, but man oh man, it's COLD!! I'm going to have to dig out my car in the morning. My brother swiped the snow away by the road, but the wheels are buried and there's 6 to 8 feet of snow I'll have push away between the front of my car and the road. I went out and started my poor car this afternoon, swept it off, and hiked around the poor thing. It's white and practically disappeared in the snow. I wore my boots that were up to my knees and had to dig the snow out of the tops of them when I came inside. I am officially welcoming winter today here in Paradise.

Here's wishing you a warm Christmas week, happy memories, and joyous family moments.

Tis the Season

Ok so I saw this hilarious video on YouTube and actually posted it here, but it is rather offensive (it's called Christmas My Arse) and PG rated for sure. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with the commercialism of the season and slip into Scrooge mode...but really I do enjoy the holiday, the celebration, the cookies, and my little Christmas tree. Dare I say thinking of the birth of a babe so far away and so long ago, one who impacted the world with his life and death and resurrection, well, really that's what Christmas is all about, isn't it? Not some fat guy in a white beard who in one night breaks into every house on the planet, even if he does leave stuff rather than steal stuff. Don't you think that's kinda weird?

If you'd like to see the video, rather than post it here, you can go to it if you like. Here's the URL, just copy and paste it in your address bar.

Other than that, I do have my tree up, lights on, and fireplace going. It's cozy and warm here in paradise, quiet and comfortable. Hope you all really do have a wonderful holiday season.
